Fire Gutted Insurance Building in Pondok Indah

Great fire gutted an insurance building and workshop on Jalan Sultan Iskandar Muda,  Arteri Pondok Indah, Kebayoran Lama, Saturday (5/16).

"We got report around 11.15 p.m. and immediately deploy the nearest officer for quick response," told Operational Section Head of South Jakarta Fire Managing and Rescuing Sub-Department, Edy Sucipto.

The officers immediately extinguish the fire point that located on the first floor. All side building that close to fire point are cooled down to prevent fire spread to other material.

Sucipto explained, the fire can be extinguished immediately. "We extinguish the fire in 30 minutes and immediately cooling down the surrounding area," he explained.

He added, the cause of fire still in investigation. "We guess the cause is electrical short circuit. There are no casualties because most of the employee were in vacation," he told.
